An unprecedented collaboration of the City and County of Los Angeles came together with private sector leadership as the Grand Avenue Committee with an ambitious plan to transform a major downtown boulevard into a cultural anchor for the City. The City and County approved a mixed-use project on nine acres designed by celebrated architect Frank Gehry for which we generated worldwide media coverage. While this project was delayed by the economic downturn, a 16-acre GrandPark connecting LA City Hall with The Music Center was funded and constructed by Related. We were retained by the County of Los Angeles to organize and implement the Park’s groundbreaking in July 2010 and its Civic Dedication two years later, bringing together the Los Angeles business, culturaland civic leadership to celebrate both of these occasions. The Broad, a major contemporary art museum, is now going up on one of the Grand Avenue sites and Related is building a 20-story apartment tower on another, both represented by Casey & Sayre.
